Happy Mother's Day to Mrs. Lane. My mother's birthday was March 21 and she died in 1993. I am very sorry for your loss. Your son was (is) truly a most gifted and magnetic musician...speaking through the ages in some way to so many people...what a tragic loss at 40...but what a glorious gift left behind for all of us to enjoy and immerse ourselves in...not just music...not just feeling...something deeper...to remind us, I think, all of something so much deeper...I listen and I am taken so thoroughly with your son's talent...

I am proud to say I knew Shawn. I had the pleasure of seeing him numerous times in Memphis with The Willys(Sam Bryant/keys,Rob+Russ Caudil/bass+drums, Steve Wiggly/sound) in the 80's. I fondly remember taking anyone(especially out-of-towners) to see this "kid" and this band, and watching them get blown away.Shawn touched my life, and deepened my love of music. Thank you Shawn! I bought the power licks video because I had heard on the internet how amazing Shawn was, but I had no idea what was in store for me. At first, his music was almost too much for me, so much going on with the counterpoint and all that. I liked his techniques so I would watch the video every day to learn from , and after about a week or so I had completely fallen in love with his music and began to buy his albums Every song I've ever heard him play is overflowing with taste and a great sense of musical adventure. He was a great man, who many people speak very highly of, he left a good impression on the world and to this day inspires people to become serious about their music. It is such a shame that he had to pass on, but he lives on in his music, forever.

i cant explain my feelings towards shawn for the pure fact that he touches my heart everyday so its hard for me to say..at work i listen to music for 8-1/2 hours ,i'll put in shawn and find myself feeling out of body and i feel like he was the most unperfect perfect person to ever touch an instrument..then i get all teary eyed. i love his music and what ive seen and read of his nature..those are the people im attracted to..the ones w/ hearts the ones w/ truth..i love shawn lane;) ps: i would love to perchase every bootleg cd/video you have of shawn so please get in touch w/ me about it! my e-mail is corningprintery@aol.com

forgot to say on last message to watch out for bad copies of a remastered POT and tri-tone, both are dodgy, so dont buy, none of the proceeds will go to the Lane family, only buy from this site.

i was initially drawn to shawns music due to the sheer speed and accuracy of his playing, and very quickly began to enjoy his music in a way i cant describe. i felt like i new shawn and carry a sadness with me that he is not here. seeing his character, personality and huge heart, he was so much more than the best player ever, he is/was/is a loving and hugely inspirational legend.
