I myself am a underground, guitarist, similar quite as Buckethead, only younger, Mr. Lane`s playing has always been a great influence to me, and my playing. I am very sorry that his time was so short with us. I want to thank you all because of the great website, to honor his memory, and keep his legacy going. I myself am doing my part to carry his playing as long as I can. And this is the only place I found you can actually have a tabulatures to his songs, that I found. Thank you for those as well... "Things are just the way they has to be", and I am sorry about it...

Its really sad to know one of the greates guitar player of the '90 died. I have heard about our friend Shawn when i was 14, but i was not seriously in musci at that time. A week ago i read a guitars magazine and i knew (ten years later) about Shawn. It was shocking for me to see his name just for knew he had died. A terrible lost, but at least he had left a legacy, his amazingly way of playing guitar, Thanks Shawn for what you have left. See you on heaven making music. M. Frontado

The more time passes, the more his music takes his essence. I can't believe he's in higher place, because his works still make dreaming people, indeed, he's still in people's heart. He has shown a path in music, a guitar philosophy, a line to follow, he's Shawn Lane, and this name has entered the History. Rice with angels, Shawn. Best regards and support to his family.

I cannot believe that Shawn is gone. I have been listening to his music since I was fourteen years old, and I am now twenty eight. I used to sneed into clubs to hear him play with the Willy's in Memphis. I remember with Powers of Ten first came out and he played a little show in a bar on Park Avenue, like the Red House or something. I have never seen anything like it. To hear him play All Along the Watchtower or Hotel California live was truly amazing. Rest In Peace Shawn.

I was recently introduced to Shawn Lane's music by my guitar teacher, and i've just gotta say, Shawn was the fastest and most soulful guitarist ever. And probably the best musician ever to live.

I was lucky enough to see Hellborg/Lane/Sipe play twice at the Wetlands, N.Y.C. The playing by all was simply amazing. I was standing right in front of Shawn and my ears could not believe what my eyes were seeing! The layers of sound he was putting down were simply amazing!! He is playing with the angels now!!

A master of all styles.... Shawn Lane played many styles of music, his appreciation for the many different styles made his music so enjoyable to many he listen to different music, his compositions as great as the late 18th century greats. Sadly not many people know him and his music will die with the few unless we can promote and introduce his music to the world... Shawn Lane, a true genius.
