I first learned of shawn about 6 yrs ago.what an incredible musician, to this day, i've never heard any other guitarist portray emotions in their music as acuratley as shawn. He poored his heart and soul into every note, phrase, composition. Shawn could make you cry, laugh, and smile. the cd "powers of ten has been in my cd player for about two years strait, an amazing collection of styles!!! the band i'm in, is being produced by jeff pilson from the band dokken. One day in pre production, i asked jeff " hey, have you heard of guy named shawn lane" his eyes lit up, and he says " yeah george and i saw him perform live while the band dokken was on tour" both george and jeff were floored by how good shawn played!!!!!!!! Well in closing, I miss you shawn 🙁 your family lost a fine man, and we the people lost a shinning inspiration of creativity, passion, and being the best you can be!! Shawn,by your body of work, your truly deserving of your place in the guitar gods heaven, and as a legendary musician

My name is Milos. I play guitar and I heard about Shawn about four years ago. 'Till now I haven't had the chance to see the video. Here in Serbia those things are not widespread but as always I managed to find it somehow. I've come to the site today to learn more......and I realised the geniuos is no longer here. I don't know what to say.Needless to speak about Shawn, his work does it for him. Milos.

Shawn, for your birthday I’d like to share our plan with your friends and fans throughout the world. You gave me my mission with your words, and now you fill my head with your inspiration. You are now and have always been with me. I feel your presence, I see your vision, and it was meant to be. For you I carry on. Thank you for your gift. With love, admiration, and respect for your brilliance, I give my devotion to spread and share your music. Your spirit lives, and together we will make a difference in this world and offer hope to humanity. This quest is my life’s learning, and the essence of our vision is this: A concert of music and dance entitled “Powers of Ten - Revisited: The Dance” , a production of your original compositions combined with my original choreography to benifit charity (soon to be in production). Happy Birthday Shawn! From your sister, Tina.

Happy Birthday Shawn.. we all love you! Here are some fitting words : "Though destiny waylays you a hundred times ; In the end, it pitches a tent for you in the heavens, It is the suffering and trials of life, That lead you to the kingdom of ecstacy. This harsh discipline and rough treatment are a furnace to extract the dross from the silver. When boiling, all the scum rises to the surface, and the silver is purified. Where there is water, life flourishes Wherever tears fall, divine mercy is shown. Sorrow prepares you for joy. It violently sweeps everything out of your house, so that a new joy can find space to enter. It shakes the dead leaves of your heart, so fresh green ones grow instead. It tears the rotten roots out, so new ones have the space to flourish. Whatever sorrow shakes your heart, realize that better things will take place soon."- Jalaladin Rumi
