Creo no exagerar en decir que el nivel de amplitud artística de Shawn me hace acordar, en otro plano, a la revolución que representó Bruce Lee para las artes marciales: una fuente inagotable de recursos e inspiración. Potencialidad pura. Saludos a todos desde Argentina! English Translated by Google: I think I am not exaggerating in saying that Shawn's level of artistic amplitude reminds me, on another level, of the revolution that Bruce Lee represented for martial arts: an inexhaustible source of resources and inspiration. Pure potential. Greetings to all from Argentina!

Thanks for keeping up the memory of a very singular, the one, Shawn Lane. There are so many things in this world that make our lives better and Shawn's music and guitar playing is one of that beautiful things God gave us for admiring an enjoying also. One of my influences (perhaps the biggest one) as a guitarist and as a musician too. Shawn, you are in our hearts.

I knew of Shawn many years before he passed away. I reviewed his music online and was amazed at his guitar prowess. No one could play like him. I finally got to meet him at his last concert. What a humble person he was. He was a joy to meet. I am glad to be at his last concert. For those interested, I have uploaded it to YouTube. We miss Shawn's amazing guitar playing.

It just occurred to me I hadn't checked in some time what was going on here on the web about Shawn. So glad to see this website updated and up and running. Everyone has their Shawn moment, but I'll never forget hearing Powers of Ten streamed, after he had put the music up himself. It may have been the first album I heard that way and even coming across my little computer speakers, I was forever changed by it. There will never be another 'Shawn'.

So great to see this website and see Shawn's legacy living on. Realizing how he touched so many of us, first of all with his guitar playing, secondly with his compositions and then 3rd.. as a human being. Just being around Shawn was such an amazing experience.. also recording with him in my little home studio.. Shawn doing everything first take and just basically burning the place down with his playing.. incredible and something I will never forget. His spirit is in his music and as long as we keep on playing his music, he will be here. Hearing his interested, humble and very alert gentle Southern accent in his speaking. Thanks for everything Shawn and your touch of beauty.

I've played guitar since the 1970s, thought I knew all the greats, but somehow didn't discover Shawn until about 11 years ago. Ran across a used copy of Abstract Logic in a music store, and that was it. For me his work with Hellborg and Sipe is the pinnacle of guitar playing. Still get shivers from some of those moments when you can just feel the synergy happening, the musical communication in real time. But even more impressive - a humble genius, voracious reader, encyclopedic movie buff, pianist, chef, all of it. And then to play through pain. As I once heard someone else say, Shawn transcended the physical limitations of the guitar.

Shawn raised the bar and set new standards in every respect. I believe we all experienced the work of a genius in our lifetime, no doubt about it. Shawn achieved the same level with everything in many cases by his teens, it was across the board, likewise his love of art, politics, World Cinema, reading, musical repertoire. RIP Shawn, a genius and Magician.

As DIrector of Artist Relations for VIGIER Guitars, one of my proudest achievements was hooking Shawn up with Patrice Vigier. Both are craftsmen. I had the pleasure of doing 2, 3-week clinic tours in Europe with Shawn. He had a very strong following in Europe and most clinics were packed; with mostly other guitar players. (like Buckeheat in Amsterdam) Shawn taught me much about art, museums, movies and of course music. Shawn was truly a musician's musician and a gifted one at that. I will forever remember our time hanging out together and seeing all of the lives he touched. His life was troubled at times but he put that into his music. His music still lives on as do our memories of him. Cherish those because there will probably never be another Shawn Lane. RIP buddy.

SHAWN LANE was an absolute incredible musician. Leagues above most. Brilliant and awe inspiring. Every time I listen to Shawn's music, I feel inspired and I FEEL the music, what Shawn was saying. It is very powerful and I can't help but get emotional when listening to this amazing music. Goosebumps at the same time. Thank you Shawn for your legacy, and as a guitarist, incredible material to attempt to learn. Very challenging haha! R.I.P. to a magnificent being.

I have not been as moved by a Guitarist as I was by Shean Lane, in a very very long time - and I am a guitarist myself. His rendition of "All Blues" is erie and he is fiendishly passionate, in spite of the blistering speed. A true Divine Gift - a Man in his true element, immersed in his Sole Life Purpose - what a Bless to witness such! And all that to disciver him posthumously! He is a true Guitar Giant!
